The Influence of Calcium on the Binding of Antithrombin by Antithrombin Inhibitor.
Summary and Conclusions1. The reaction between antithrombin and inhibitor has a quantitative requirement for calcium. 2. Calcium is not the inhibitor of antithrombin. 3. Calcium is not required for neutralization of thrombin by antithrombin.

A test for antithrombin in the blood [PDF]
A test is described for the estimation of antithrombin in the blood. The chief advantage of the test is that it is simple, and does not require the preparation of fibrinogen and of thrombin, which are difficult to prepare and to maintain in a pure state.

Thrombin-Fibrin(ogen) Interactions, Host Defense and Risk of Thrombosis
Fibrinogen is a well-known risk factor for arterial and venous thrombosis. Its function is not restricted to clot formation, however, as it partakes in a complex interplay between thrombin, soluble plasma fibrinogen, and deposited fibrin matrices ...
