SPROUTS_DB: An Implemented Database of Contaminants for Extracellular Vesicle Proteomics Studies

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current proteomics techniques allow rapid identification and quantification of proteins within any given biological source. However, LC–MS/MS proteomics is vulnerable to laboratory and sample‐associated contaminants. Therefore, accurate identification and annotation of such contaminants is crucial for development of reliable databases ...

RNA‐DNA Fusomer Fibers With Customizable Physicochemical, Mechanical, and Biological Properties for Next‐Generation Therapeutics

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We introduce RNA‐DNA fusomers, a new class of chemically synthesized oligonucleotides that combine the versatile properties of RNA and DNA within a single sequence and self‐assemble into higher‐order functional structures via a simple one‐pot annealing reaction.

Model for the interplay of neural activity and Schwann cells in maintaining the motor innervation of the NMJ.

open access: yes, 2019
(A) Summary of the presence or absence of Schwann cells, neuromuscular activity (+,–), or developmental synaptic degeneration in 19 mouse lines. erbB2-/- mice refer to erbB2 null mutants crossed to transgenic mice overexpressing erbB2 in the heart, which

Influence of patient factors on target plasma volume treated attainment rate during double filtration plasmapheresis in patients with hypertriglyceridemic acute pancreatitis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction This study aims to investigate patient factors affecting the rate of plasma volume target attained in hypertriglyceridemic pancreatitis (HTG‐AP) patients undergoing double filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP). Methods A retrospective analysis of 82 HTG‐AP‐interpreted patients from January 2019 to April 2024 compared target plasma ...

Priming of labor with tafoxiparin in nulliparous term pregnant women with unripe cervix—Proof‐of‐concept and dose‐finding results from a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
This study shows that tafoxiparin 300 mg can increase the rate of cervical ripening and the likelihood of spontaneous onset of labor, while also reducing the duration of labor in women achieving spontaneous onset of labor. The favorable safety profile of tafoxiparin suggests suitability for routine clinical use, including home administration.

Prevention of venous thromboembolism in gynecological cancer patients undergoing major abdominopelvic surgery: A systematic review and network meta-analysis

open access: yes, 2021
OBJECTIVE: Although thromboprophylaxis is recommended to reduce death and disability from venous thromboembolism (VTE), it remains underused due to a perceived risk of bleeding, especially in major abdominopelvic surgical patients.METHODS: We conducted a
