Force for ancient and recent life: viral and stem-loop RNA consortia promote life. [PDF]
Lytic viruses were thought to kill the most numerous host (i.e., kill the winner). But persisting viruses/defectives can also protect against viruses, especially in a ubiquitous virosphere. In 1991, Yarmolinsky et al.

Abstract A 4‐month‐old Irish Draught colt was presented for treatment of a traumatic wound to the right hind pastern region of 6 hours’ duration. Investigation confirmed communication between the wound and the proximal interphalangeal joint. Due to the joint's small size, a traditional synovial endoscopic lavage could not be performed.

Immunological Characterization and Neutralizing Ability of Monoclonal Antibodies Directed Against Botulinum Neurotoxin Type H. [PDF]
BackgroundOnly Clostridium botulinum strain IBCA10-7060 produces the recently described novel botulinum neurotoxin type H (BoNT/H). BoNT/H (N-terminal two-thirds most homologous to BoNT/F and C-terminal one-third most homologous to BoNT/A) requires ...

Comprehensive genome and stage‐specific transcriptomes reveal 14,637 genes in Listronotus oregonensis, advancing genetic insights into a key agricultural pest. Compared with related species, L. oregonensis exhibits reduced chemoreceptor gene families but expanded detoxification gene clusters, reflecting its narrow host range and adaptability.

Defense Systems and Prophage Detection in Streptococcus mutans Strains
ABSTRACT Although the species is extensively studied, limited data are available on antiphage defense systems (APDSs) in Streptococcus mutans. The present study aimed to explore the diversity and the occurrence of APDSs and to search for prophages in the genomes of clinical isolates of S. mutans using bioinformatics tools.
