Enhanced peripheral blood mononuclear cell lipid metabolism drives poor immunotherapy response via ferroptotic stress‐induced T cell exhaustion in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omics reveals that CD36‐mediated lipid overload in PBMCs drives T cell exhaustion via sub‐lethal ferroptotic stress and AKT suppression. This systemic metabolic signature serves as a robust predictor of immunotherapy response in HCC, suggesting that modulating lipid metabolism can rescue immune fitness.

Apatinib inhibits glioma cell malignancy in patient-derived orthotopic xenograft mouse model by targeting thrombospondin 1/myosin heavy chain 9 axis

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2021
We determined the antitumor mechanism of apatinib in glioma using a patient-derived orthotopic xenograft (PDOX) glioma mouse model and glioblastoma (GBM) cell lines.

When Explant Surprises: Management and Outcomes of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Beyond Milan Criteria Discovered Post‐Transplant‐ A Narrative Review of Literature

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liver transplantation (LT) is the definitive treatment for early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), based on established criteria. Pre‐transplant imaging occasionally underestimates the tumor burden or biological aggressiveness, leading to explant pathology that exceeds the projection criteria, such as Milan.

The FGF/FGFR System in the Biology and Therapeutic Landscape of Pediatric CNS Tumors

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the most common solid malignancies in children, comprising a highly heterogeneous group of neoplasms defined by distinct molecular alterations and clinical behaviors. Advances in molecular genetics have underscored the relevance of specific signaling pathways in driving pediatric tumorigenesis, among ...

Regulating Lipid Metabolism in Cancer: The Therapeutic Potential of Traditional Chinese Medicine

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
By regulating the reprogramming of lipid metabolism in tumor cells, TCM provides a novel strategy for antitumor therapy with reduced toxicity and enhanced efficacy. ABSTRACT Lipid metabolic reprogramming is a key feature of tumor cells to adapt to the microenvironment and plays an important role in tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis.

Cholesterol confers resistance to Apatinib-mediated ferroptosis in gastric cancer

open access: yesCell & Bioscience
Background Gastric cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Apatinib is a third-line treatment for gastric cancer. However, the development of resistance significantly limits its efficacy, and effective and safe strategies to

Apatinib suppresses tumor progression and enhances cisplatin sensitivity in esophageal cancer via the Akt/β-catenin pathway

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2020
Background Esophageal cancer is the sixth leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, which is partially due to limited progress of therapy. Apatinib, an inhibitor of VEGFR2, has a promising antitumor effect on malignancies.

Advances in the Role of Chemokines in Microwave Ablation‐Based Combinatorial Immunotherapy

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
MWA can initiate antitumor immunity through tumor antigen release and innate immune activation, but iMWA may instead promote an immunosuppressive microenvironment. Combining MWA with immunotherapeutic strategies offers a promising approach to enhance systemic immunity and suppress residual and distant tumors.
