Biological synthesis of silver and gold nanoparticles using apiin as reducing agent

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2009
We report a novel strategy for the biological synthesis of anisotropic gold and quasi-spherical silver nanoparticles by using apiin as the reducing and stabilizing agent. The size and shape of the nanoparticles can be controlled by varying the ratio of metal salts to apiin compound in the reaction medium.

A study of apiin from the parsley seeds and plant

Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences - Section A, 1952
An effective method for purifying apiin from parsley seeds is to convert it into the lead salt and recover it by decomposition with hydrogen sulphide. It then crystallises readily from alcohol and yields a crystalline acetate. The work on the complete methylation and hydrolysis has been revised using the pure sample and also purifying the methylated ...

Discovery of the apiosyltransferase, celery UGT94AX1 that catalyzes the biosynthesis of a flavone glycoside, apiin

2023
Abstract Apiose is a unique branched-chain pentose found in plant glycosides and a key component of the cell wall-polysaccharide pectin and other specialized metabolites. More than 1,200 plant-specialized metabolites contain apiose residues, represented by apiin, a distinctive flavone glycoside found in celery and ...

Cytotoxic Effects of Apiin

2021
Cancer is the most deadly disease of our age. Existing drugs used for cancer treatment are insufficient in the treatment of cancer due to cumulative mutations. Therefore, there is a need for studies to discover new molecules or to increase drug efficacy in cancer treatment.

Comparative effects of the flavonoids luteolin, apiin and rhoifolin on experimental pulmonary hypertension in the dog

Phytotherapy Research, 1994
AbstractThe acute effects were compared of selected flavonoids on the pulmonary vascular circuit in two experimental models of pulmonary hypertension, produced by hypoxia and by prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) in anaesthetized dogs. In all dogs, haemodynamic variables (pulmonary artery pressure, pulmonary artery wedge and aortic pressure, pulmonary vascular ...
