Abstract Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the most common urologic disease in aging men, resulting in significant morbidity. The etiologies of BPH are unknown, though chronic prostatic inflammation is known to promote hyperplasia, fibrotic remodeling, and therapeutic resistance in BPH.
