In human CAVD, KLF5 is reduced in VIC‐rich regions and remodeling/stress‐associated VIC states. In VICs, KLF5 sustains BNIP3 promoter activity and BNIP3‐mediated mitophagy, thereby limiting cytosolic mtDNA accumulation. KLF5 loss weakens mitochondrial quality control and enhances mtDNA‐sensitive STING/NF‐κB/NLRP3 inflammatory signaling under osteogenic

THSD7A Exacerbates Atherosclerosis via Activation of Signaling Axis αvβ3/CEBPD/IL1A
THSD7A exerts pro‐inflammatory effects and exacerbates atherosclerosis. Mechanistically, THSD7A regulates endothelial cell inflammation and atherosclerosis by activating the αvβ3/CEBPD/IL1A signaling axis. THSD7A is not only a genetic marker but also a potential therapeutic target for coronary artery disease (CAD).

'Atrocity Suppression': an alternative to 'Humanitarian Intervention'
The concept of humanitarian intervention has been around for centuries but came to particular prominence in the mid-1990s on foot of Genocides in Rwanda and at Srebrenica, Bosnia. The shocking brutality and scale of these events and the steadfast failure of the international community to defend the victims propelled the issue of humanitarian ...

This study evaluated immune‐related biomarkers in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors after postoperative recurrence. PD‐L1 expression in tumor‐associated macrophages and tumor cells, together with HLA class I downregulation and HLA‐DR expression, were associated with favorable responses to immunotherapy.
