Pharmacokinetics and Safety of Fenofibrate in Participants with Mild Hepatic Impairment or with Advanced Fibrosis due to Metabolic‐Associated Fatty Liver Disease

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Fenofibrate is contraindicated in patients with advanced hepatic fibrosis due to limited clinical data. We evaluated the pharmacokinetics and safety of fenofibrate in participants with mild hepatic impairment (phase 1 study) or advanced fibrosis due to metabolic‐associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD; phase 2a study).

Determination of apolipoproteins B-48 and B-100 in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins by analytical SDS-PAGE.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1994
The present work describes a procedure for determining apolipoproteins (apo) B-100 and B-48 in subfractions of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins by analytical sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) with Coomassie staining.

GCKR Polymorphisms Increase the Risks of Low Bone Mineral Density in Young and Non‐Obese Patients With MASLD and Hyperuricemia

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metabolic‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) encompasses common comorbidities including low bone mineral density (BMD) and hyperuricemia (HU), yet relevant genetic analyses are limited. This study aimed to investigate the genetic effects of risk single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on the occurrence of low BMD in patients with MASLD ...

Association Between Angiotensin‐Converting Enzyme (ACE) Gene Insertion/Deletion (I/D) Polymorphism Genotypes With Brain Volume and Hypertension in Alzheimer's Disease—A Retrospective Study

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the role of the ACE I/D polymorphism in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients, particularly in relation to hypertension and its influence on brain volume. Seventy‐seven AD patients, diagnosed based on Aging and Alzheimer's Association criteria, were enrolled from the Kaohsiung Municipal Ta‐Tung Hospital Dementia Cohort. ACE

Apolipoprotein E (APOE) Genotype and Cognitive Outcomes of Snoring in a Large Cohort of Adolescents

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study examined the relationship between the APOE genotype, snoring, and cognitive performance in adolescents using data from the ABCD study. The results indicated no significant interaction effects between the APOE genotype, snoring frequency, and time on cognitive outcomes. Therefore, the APOE genotype may not be a reliable predictor of cognitive

Lipid and lipoprotein particle profiles in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A comparative study between highlanders and lowlanders

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
Abstract The lipid profiles of highlanders and lowlanders differ. However, studies of the lipid profiles of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) living at high altitudes are limited. This study aimed to compare lipid profiles and lipoprotein particles in individuals with T2DM permanently residing in the Tibetan Plateau and those residing in ...

Efficacy and safety of low‐dose atorvastatin plus ezetimibe for primary hypercholesterolemia: A randomized, double‐blind, multicenter phase 3 trial

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
Low‐dose atorvastatin combined with ezetimibe achieves superior LDL‐C reduction (44.8%) compared with equivalent or higher‐dose statin monotherapy in Korean patients, presenting a more effective and safer therapeutic strategy potentially applicable to broader Asian populations.
