ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Winter tick sharing between ungulates in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and implications for apparent competition

open access: yesEcosphere
Host species heterogeneity can drive parasite dynamics through variation in host competency as well as host abundance. We explored how elk (Cervus canadensis) with apparent subclinical infestations of winter tick (Dermacentor albipictus) may be a cryptic

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Realized trophic niche driven by apparent competition: an example with marsupials

open access: yes, 2020
CONSELHO NACIONAL DE DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO E TECNOLÓGICO - CNPQFUNDAÇÃO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO - FAPESPAccording to apparent competition theory, the co-occurrence of two species that share the same predators appears to affect ...

Local governments competing for the environment and green innovation-evidence from China

open access: yesJournal of Applied Economics
Enhancing green innovation is the key to realizing high-quality development and the “dual-carbon” goal. This paper takes the data from Chinese cities from 2000 to 2018 as a sample to test the impact and mechanism of local governments’ competition for the

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Data from: Realized trophic niche driven by apparent competition: an example with marsupials

open access: yes, 2017
According to apparent competition theory, the co-occurrence of two species that share the same predators appears to affect each other's population growth and abundance.
