Influence of nutrient density and feed form on growth performance, nutrient digestibility and gastro intestinal tract development in broilers fed wheat-based diets : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Animal Science at Massey University, Manawatu, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Figures 2.1.& 2.2 have been removed for copyright reasons but may be accessed via their source. This study investigated the influence of nutrient density and feed form, and their interaction on growth performance, nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolisable

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Energy and Nutrient Intake Monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes
A passive system to determine the in-flight intake of nutrients is developed. Nonabsorbed markers placed in all foods in proportion to the nutrients selected for study are analyzed by neutron activation analysis.

Review of SEAFDEC/AQD fish nutrition and feed development research [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Research on fish nutrition and feed development at SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department has focused on three major areas: nutrient requirements and their interrelationships, digestive enzymes and digestibility, and practical feed development for important ...

Digestibility of Corn Germ as Factor in its Apparent Hypocholesterolemic Effects

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1959
SummaryDigestion of whole germ by chicks not receiving grit is poor. This explains to a large extent the apparent effects of whole corn germ in maintaining low cholesterol levels and preventing atherosclerotic lesions.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Quantification of nutrient supply in forage-based diets for beef cattle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
End of Project ReportIntroduction Cattle rearing systems in Ireland are predominantly grass-based as 80% of agricultural land is dedicated to grassland (silage, hay and pasture) (CSO, 2007).

Digestion, rumen fermentation and circulating concentrations of insulin, growth hormone and IGF-1 in steers fed diets based on different proportions of maize silage and grass silage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Replacing grass silage with maize silage results in a fundamental change in the ratio of structural to non-structural carbohydrates with commensurate changes in rumen fermentation patterns and nutrient utilisation.

Determination of apparent nutrient digestibility of different roughage sources in geese

open access: yesEuropean Poultry Science, 2003
The aim of this study was to determine the apparent nutrient digestibility of different roughage sources (alfalfa meal, grass meal, dried sugar beet pulp) in Turkish native geese. Totally, 21 one year old, male geese were used in this experiment. Geese were divided into three groups according to the Eve weight and each goose was kept in an individual ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
