Enzyme complex at different levels in diets with enriched ingredients for commercial laying hens

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2019
The objective of this study was to evaluate levels of inclusion of an enzyme complex (EC) in corn- and soybean meal-based diets for laying hens on the digestibility of nutrients and energy.

Apparent Amino Acid Availability and Apparent Metabolizable Energy Values of Tower and Candle Rapeseeds and Rapeseed Meals

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1980
An experiment was conducted to measure the amino acid (AA) availability and metabolizable energy of whole and ground Tower and Candle rapeseeds (RS). This was done by the apparent metabolizable energy (AME) method of total excreta collection using mature White Leghorn cockerels.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Apparent metabolizable energy of crude glycerin originating from different sources in broiler chickens

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2011
An energy balance experiment was conducted to determine the AME(n) of various crude glycerin samples, and to generate an equation to predict AME(n) of crude glycerin based on its chemical composition. Dietary treatments consisted of a corn-soybean meal basal diet with no added glycerin and a basal diet supplemented with 6% glycerin.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Effects of graded fiber level and caecectomy on metabolizable energy value and amino acid digestibility in geese

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2016
This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of graded levels of fiber from rice hull and the caecectomy on metabolizable energy (ME) and amino acid digestibility (AAD) in 42 Wuzong geese (21 intact and 21 caecectomized).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Energy and protein levels in diets containing phytase for broilers from 22 to 42 days of age: performance and nutrient excretion

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2011
This study was conducted in order to evaluate the influence of different levels of metabolizable energy and crude protein in diets formulated according to the ideal protein concept with phytase supplementation on performance and nutrient excretion of ...
