Inferring reaction network structure from single-cell, multiplex data, using toric systems theory.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2019
The goal of many single-cell studies on eukaryotic cells is to gain insight into the biochemical reactions that control cell fate and state. In this paper we introduce the concept of Effective Stoichiometric Spaces (ESS) to guide the reconstruction of ...

THEORY OF CONTROL AND MODEL APPLICATION IN THE STUDY OF PHYSIOLOGY OF SPORTS AND TRAINING [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Sports Medicine, 1973
Proposals are presented for a number of mathematical models of the various physiological systems which may prove useful in obtaining and integrating data about the functioning of these systems, especially the cardiovascular and locomotor ones.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Using Extended TPB Models to Predict Dishonest Academic Behaviors of Undergraduates in a Chinese Public University

open access: yesSAGE Open, 2022
Dishonest academic behavior (DAB) by students in Chinese higher education institutions has become a significant concern. However, the related study of academic dishonesty in mainland China is very limited.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

On the Mathematical Background of Sliding Mode-Based Friction Compensation of a Micro-Telemanipulation System

open access: yesMathematics
Modeling of various phenomena in engineering work is always a kind of simplification of real processes, aiming at a model where a certain level of mathematical theory and computational procedures is sufficient.

Duality in polynomial models with some applications to geometric control theory [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1981
Duality is studied in the context of polynomial models for linear systems. The output injection group, the dual of the feedback group, is studied and a polynomial characterization of ( C, A )-invariant subspaces as well as of the maximal reachability subspaces contained in ker C is given.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

An Application of Optimal Control Theory to Model of Industrial Development

open access: yesStudies in Regional Science, 1977
Basic industry will become trigger for industrialization if the municipal corporation gives financial support appropriately to the industries in the region. This paper refers to the optimal investment for financial support in the view point of maximization of income from the industries. The process of Analysis is, (1) to make the model of real system ...
