A multitype infinite-allele branching process with applications to cancer evolution [PDF]
We extend the infinite-allele simple branching process of Griffiths and Pakes (1988) allowing the offspring to change types and labels. The model is developed and limit theorems are given for the growth of the number of labels of a specific type. We also discuss the asymptotics of the frequency spectrum.

Nonlinear Markov semigroups and interacting Lévy type processes [PDF]
Semigroups of positivity preserving linear operators on measures of a measurable space X describe the evolutions of probability distributions of Markov processes on X.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Linear-fractional branching processes with countably many types
We study multi-type Bienayme-Galton-Watson processes with linear-fractional reproduction laws using various analytical tools like the contour process, spinal representation, Perron-Frobenius theorem for countable matrices, and renewal theory.

Biggins' Martingale Convergence for Branching Lévy Processes [PDF]
International audienceA branching Lévy process can be seen as the continuous-time version of a branching random walk; see [BM17]. It describes a particle system on the real line in which particles move and reproduce independently one of the others, in a ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Survey of Multivariate Aspects of the Contraction Method
We survey multivariate limit theorems in the framework of the contraction method for recursive sequences as arising in the analysis of algorithms, random trees or branching processes.

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells
