PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Random graph models for wireless communication networks

open access: yes, 2010
PhDThis thesis concerns mathematical models of wireless communication networks, in particular ad-hoc networks and 802:11 WLANs. In ad-hoc mode each of these devices may function as a sender, a relay or a receiver.

Graph Drawing Techniques for Geographic Visualization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Geovisualizers often need to represent data that consists of items related together. Such data sets can be abstracted to a mathematical structure, the graph.

Special Math Lecture: Graph theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Graphs are playing an essential role in many fields, as for example in computer science, in optimization and in algorithmic complexity. Studying the abstract theory of graphs provides the tools for dealing with very diverse questions and with numerous ...

GRAph Parallel Actor Language: A Programming Language for Parallel Graph Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We introduce a domain-specific language, GRAph Parallel Actor Language, that enables parallel graph algorithms to be written in a natural, high-level form.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Modelling of Modular Robot Configurations Using Graph Theory

open access: yes, 2008
Modular robots are systems that can change its geometry or configuration when connecting more modules or when rearranging them in a different manner to perform a variety of tasks.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

A study on implementation of four graph algorithms

open access: yes, 1991
The study of graph theory and its applications have increased substantially in the past 40 years. This is especially the case in the applications to the fields of computer science, electrical, and industrial engineering.
