Gut Microbiota‐Derived Anandamide Mediates the Therapeutic Effects of Urolithin A on Alcohol‐Induced Cognitive and Social Dysfunction via CB1R‐DRD2‐RAP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that Urolithin A (UA) counteracts alcohol‐induced cognitive and social dysfunction (AICSD) via a gut microbiome‐dependent mechanism. UA‐enriched Bacteroids sartorii and Parabacteroids distasonis elevate anandamide (AEA), which activates the CB1R‐DRD2‐Rap1 signaling cascade to drive synaptic repair and reduce neuroinflammation ...

On the birthday problem: some generalizations and applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2003
We study the birthday problem and some possible extensions. We discuss the unimodality of the corresponding exact probability distribution and express the moments and generating functions by means of confluent hypergeometric functions U(−;−;−) which are ...

Spectral zeta functions of a 1D Schr\"odinger problem

open access: yes, 2012
We study the spectral zeta functions associated to the radial Schr\"odinger problem with potential V(x)=x^{2M}+alpha x^{M-1}+(lambda^2-1/4)/x^2. Using the quantum Wronskian equation, we provide results such as closed-form evaluations for some of the ...

The application of hypergeometric functions to computing fractional order derivatives of sinusoidal functions [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences Technical Sciences, 2016
Abstract In the paper, the analytical forms of fractional order derivatives of sinusoidal function according to definitions of Riemann - Liouville and Caputo are presented. To determine the analytical form of the integrals appearing in definitions of derivatives of fractional order the Lommel functions from hypergeometrical functions family were ...

Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genomes Reveal that Multiscale Evolution Shapes the Largest Metabolic Arsenal of Diaporthe Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...

Computation of the Generalized F Distribution

open access: yes, 1999
Exact expressions are given for the distribution function of the ratio of a weighted sum of independent chi-squared variables to a single chi-square variable, scaled appropriately.

Neuid: A Novel Neuron‐Enriched LncRNA that Connects Epigenetic Gene Silencing to Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing evidence that non‐coding RNAs can become deregulated during pathogenesis is dramatically expanding the space for drug discovery beyond the protein‐coding genome. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as key regulators of cellular function, yet most remain uncharacterized.

Applications of q-Real Numbers to Triple q-Hypergeometric Functions and q-Horn Functions

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The purpose of this article is to study how q-real numbers can be used for computations of convergence regions, q-integral representations of certain multiple triple q-Lauricella functions.

The Bailey chain and mock theta functions

open access: yes, 2012
Standard applications of the Bailey chain preserve mixed mock modularity but not mock modularity. After illustrating this with some examples, we show how to use a change of base in Bailey pairs due to Bressoud, Ismail and Stanton to explicitly construct ...

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.
