Wavelength flattened directional couplers for mirrorsymmetric interferometers

open access: yes, 2005
In the context of guided optics, we derive, analytically and geometrically, a rigorous general criterion to design wavelength insensitive interferometers with mirror symmetry, which are needed for wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Imaging arbitrary incoherent source distributions with near quantum-limited resolution

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
We demonstrate an approach to obtaining near quantum-limited far-field imaging resolution of incoherent sources with arbitrary distributions. Our method assumes no prior knowledge of the source distribution, but rather uses an adaptive approach to ...

Spatially Dispersive Inhomogeneous Electromagnetic Media with Periodic Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Spatially dispersive (also known as non-local) electromagnetic media are considered where the parameters defining the permittivity relation vary periodically. Maxwell's equations give rise to a difference equation corresponding to the Floquet modes.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Physical Optics Applied to Parallel-Plate Lens Antennas

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
The Physical Optics (PO) method is used to derive simplified expressions to compute the radiation electric fields of planar graded-index and geodesic lenses based on a parallel-plate waveguide (PPW) implementation.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
