Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...

DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Suavizamiento de los vértices de un polígono por medio de un spline cónico
We prove that every irreducible conic can be parametrically represented by two rational quadratic functions. An algorithm for smoothing the vertices of a poligonal by a conic spline with continuous tangent is proposed.

Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Weighted Extremal Domains and Best Rational Approximation
44 pages, 5 figuresLet f be holomorphically continuable over the complex plane except for finitely many branch points contained in the unit disk. We prove that best rational approximants to f of degree n, in the L^2-sense on the unit circle, have poles ...

Machine Learning‐Assisted Inverse Design of Soft and Multifunctional Hybrid Liquid Metal Composites
A machine learning framework is presented for inverse design of synthesizable multifunctional composites containing both liquid metal and solid inclusions. By integrating physics‐based modeling, data‐driven prediction, and Bayesian optimization, the approach enables intelligent design of experiments to identify optimal compositions and realize these ...

Orbital Geometry‐Governed Response of Pressure‐Tunable Quantum Defects in hBN
Defects in hBN act as ultrasensitive quantum manometers when the energy of the intradefect optical transitions is modified by lattice compression. The orbital geometry of the electron wave functions governs how electron hopping and Coulomb interactions react uniquely to the reduction of the van der Waals gap and in‐plane compression, leading to robust ...

Inverse Rational L1 Approximation
We consider the nonlinear approximating family Rnm of rational expressions over a real interval. In the Lp norms, 1 < p < ∞ non-normal elements of this family cannot arise as best approximations to functions outside the family.

Using rational logarithmic basis functions to solve singular differential equations
Numerical methods based on polynomial approximation perform poorly when applied to singular initial value problems (IVPs). Hence, we are motivated to derive and implement numerical methods involving non-polynomial basis functions such as logarithmic ...
