Synthesis and fluorosolvatochromism of 3-arylnaphtho[1,2-b]quinolizinium derivatives

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
Cationic biaryl derivatives were synthesized by Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of 3-bromonaphtho[1,2-b]quinolizinium bromide with arylboronic acids. The resulting cationic biaryl derivatives exhibit pronounced fluorosolvatochromic properties.

Cellulose swelling by aprotic and protic solvents: What are the similarities and differences?

open access: yes, 2008
The swelling of microcrystalline, native and mercerized cotton and eucalyptus celluloses by 16 aprotic solvents was investigated. The number of moles of solvent/anhydroglucose unit, nSw, correlates well with solvent molar volume, basicity and dipolarity ...

Electron Injection from a Carboxylic Anchoring Dye to TiO2 Nanoparticles in Aprotic Solvents

open access: yes, 2018
Injection of photoexcited electrons in the para-Ethyl Red dye to TiO2 nanoparticles (Anatase, 40 nm diameter) is characterized by transient absorption on ultrafast time scales.

Thermodynamics of metal ion cryptates and cryptand 222 in dipolar aprotic solvents.

open access: yes, 1985
Thermodynamic parameters of transfer of single-ions from water to nitromethane are obtained using the Ph4AsPh4B convention suggested by Parker. Enthalpies of complexing of alkali-metal and silver cations with cryptand 222 in N,N-dimethylformamide ...

Alkali-assisted coal extraction with polar aprotic solvents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Coal extraction experiments were conducted using a coal, containing ca. 10% ash, from the Tshikondeni mine in South Africa. This coal dissolves only to a limited extent in pure polar aprotic solvents such as dimethylformamide (DMF) and N-methyl-2 ...

Metal‐CO2 Batteries: By‐Product Challenges and Practical Pathways for Low CO2 Concentration Environment

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metal‐CO2 batteries have recently emerged as an intriguing class of energy storage and conversion devices that simultaneously utilize and manage carbon dioxide. Originating from studies of CO2 contamination in metal‐air batteries, these systems have evolved into a distinct research direction, offering insights into CO2 electrochemistry and its
