Self‐Healing Starch‐Based Ionogels with Hydroneutral Dipole–Dipole Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces starch‐based, conductive, underwater‐healable, and transparent ionogels for soft electronics (SCUTEs). Starch macromolecules are partially substituted with cyanoethyl groups and incorporated with hydrophobic ionic liquid. The polar yet hydroneutral cyanoethyl groups facilitate strong dynamic dipole–dipole interactions that remain ...

Electro‐Chemo‐Mechanical Coupling in Composite Cathodes of Sulfide‐Based All‐Solid‐State Batteries: Pathways, Degradation, and Design Rules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review provides an integrated framework for achieving superior electrochemical performance in sulfide‐based all‐solid‐state batteries. It first delineates mechano‐electrochemical failure modes of cathode active materials and solid electrolytes, then outlines engineering principles for particle morphology, electronic and ionic conduction, and ...

Aqueous Lithium Hydroxide Chemistry Based on Hierarchically Assembled Hydrogenated Borophene/Cobalt‐Nickel Compounds for Rechargeable High‐Performance Supercapattery

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous lithium‐ion storage has been demonstrated using a hierarchically assembled hydrogenated borophene/cobalt‐nickel compound as a supercapattery electrode. Reducible hydrogenated borophene generates undercoordinated oxygen, which is redox‐active for lithiation and hydrogenation during the discharging process following the lithium hydroxide ...

Scope and limitations of a DMF bio-alternative within Sonogashira cross-coupling and Cacchi-type annulation

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
Pd-catalysed C–C bond formation is an essential tool within the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. Many of these reactions rely heavily on polar aprotic solvents; however, despite their utility, these solvents are incompatible with the drive ...

Hybridization of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysis to Develop a Novel Biocatalyst via Immobilization of Lipase on Surface Modified Mesoporous Silica Towards Biodiesel Synthesis Application

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The 3‐(methacryloyloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane surface functionalized SBA‐15 (MP‐SBA‐15) is used for the first time as a lipase carrier. The immobilized CAL‐B exhibits high thermal stability and superior catalytic activity. CAL‐B/SBA‐15 suggests that optimum hydrophobicity gives better catalytic activity.

Electrochemical Behavior of N2SO Schiff-Base Co(II) Complexes in Non-Aqueous Media at the Surface of Solid Electrodes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2009
The electrochemical behavior of three newly synthesized Schiff-base Co(II)-complex with N2SO donor group was investigated. In different non-aqueous media such as acetonitrile (AN) and %50w/w dichlromethane-dimetylsulfoxide (CH2Cl2-DMSO) mixture as ...

Interpretable Machine Learning for Solvent‐Dependent Carrier Mobility in Solution‐Processed Organic Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This work establishes a correlation between solvent properties and the charge transport performance of solution‐processed organic thin films through interpretable machine learning. Strong dispersion interactions (δD), moderate hydrogen bonding (δH), closely matching and compatible with the solute (quadruple thiophene), and a small molar volume (MolVol)

A cautionary tale of basic azo photoswitching in dichloromethane finally explained

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry
Many studies of azobenzene photoswitches are carried out in polar aprotic solvents as a first principles characterization of thermal isomerization. Among the most convenient polar aprotic solvents are chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as DCM.

Nitrobenzene Hydrogenation to N-phenylhydroxylamine: a New Approach to the Selectivity

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 2002
A new approach to resolve the problem of selectivity with respect to N-phenylhydroxylamine in nitrobenzene hydrogenation is proposed. N-phenylhydroxylamine only is the final product of nitrobenzene electroreduction in aprotic media.

Combination of a UPO-Based Epoxidation With a Subsequent Ring-Opening Reaction for the Synthesis of Amino Alcohols. [PDF]

open access: yesChembiochem
The synthesis of aromatic amino alcohols via a combination of an unspecific peroxygenase‐catalysed reaction, oxyfunctionalization, and addition of selected nucleophiles and electrophiles in a highly atom‐efficient manner was investigated. This study presents the design to aim for an atom‐efficient chemo‐enzymatic synthesis route towards aromatic amino ...
