SERS‐Based Nano‐ and Microsystems Toward Biomedical Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This review provides a current overview of nano‐ and microscale SERS‐based devices, encompassing all aspects from material design to practical applications. We highlight controlled SERS‐active architectures, including patterned substrates, nanorods, microspheres, micromotors, and microneedles, as well as combinations of these microfluidic systems.

Wafer‐Scale Deterministic Fabrication of Axis‐Ratio–Engineered Silicon Nanoparticles for On‐Resonance Electric–Magnetic Dipole Interference

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale top‐down fabrication yields silicon nanoparticles with exceptional uniformity (CV 1.7%–2.4%), enabling deterministic axis‐ratio tuning. At AR ≈$\approx$ 2.1, electric–magnetic dipoles overlap on‐resonance, producing near‐Kerker forward scattering (F/B ≈$\approx$ 12.5).

Dynamic Switchable and Transient DNA Condensates Driven by Aptamer‐Ligand or Ion‐Nucleobase Bridged Complexes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Switchable or transient formation and dissociation of the phase‐separated DNA microdroplets generated by metal ions or aptamer‐ligand complexes crosslinking Y‐shaped DNA frameworks and dynamically separated by counter ligands eliminating the bridging metal ions or biocatalysts degrading the aptamer‐ligand complexes, are introduced.

Immune escape mechanisms revealed by multifunctional nanoprobes targeting PD‐L1 in hepatic cancer progression

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
The ICGB@Apt nanoprobes are designed to specifically recognize immune checkpoint molecules such as PD‐L1, thereby enabling precise monitoring of the progression from liver cirrhosis to HC. By binding to PD‐L1 on tumor cells, ICGB@Apt visualizes immune escape events and tumor metastasis while simultaneously reflecting the dynamic interaction between ...
