Crystallization of Human Aquaglyceroporins for Neutron Diffraction Studies
Aquaglyceroporins are channels that facilitate the flux of glycerol and water across lipid bilayers. Although structural information is available for several aquaglyceroporins, the details of how water and glycerol selectivity are maintained and how protons are excluded remain elusive.

Expression of \u3ci\u3eChlorovirus\u3c/i\u3e MT325 aquaglyceroporin (\u3ci\u3eaqpv1\u3c/i\u3e) in tobacco and its role in mitigating drought stress [PDF]
Main conclusions A Chlorovirus aquaglyceroporin expressed in tobacco is localized to the plastid and plasma membranes. Transgenic events display improved response to water deficit. Necrosis in adult stage plants is observed.

Metabolic role of aquaglyceroporin 9 in astrocytes [PDF]
Aim: Aquaglyceroporin-9 (AQP9) is a member of the Aquaporin channel family involved in water flux through plasma membranes and exhibits the distinctive feature of also being permeable to glycerol and monocarboxylates.

Objective: Aquaporins (AQPs) are a large family of proteins that help transport water and small molecules. AQP7 is an AQP responsible for the extracellular transport of glycerol produced by lipolysis in adipocytes. Perilipin 1 (PLIN1) regulates lipolysis

Reduced arsenic clearance and increased toxicity in aquaglyceroporin-9-null mice [PDF]
Expressed in liver, aquaglyceroporin-9 (AQP9) is permeated by glycerol, arsenite, and other small, neutral solutes. To evaluate a possible protective role, AQP9-null mice were evaluated for in vivo arsenic toxicity.

In aquaporins the ar/R-selectivity filter and NPA-region form a positive electrostatic barrier that strictly excludes cations. In this thesis the conductivity of T. brucei AQP2 (TbAQP2) for the positively charged pentamidine and of human AQP9 (AQP9) for negatively charged monocarboxylates was evaluated.
