Biomaterials for modulating cellular responses of endogenous tendon stem/progenitor cells: A promising avenue for tendon regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This review comprehensively summarizes emerging biomaterial‐based strategies and underlying mechanisms for modulating endogenous tendon stem/progenitor cells (TSPCs). It offers the most recent insights into TSPC physiology and potential applications of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in tendons.

Biomarkers of lung congestion and injury in acute heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 781-789, April 2025.
Abstract Acute heart failure (AHF) classification and management are primarily based on lung congestion and/or hypoperfusion. The quantification of the vascular and tissue lung damage is not standard practice though biomarkers of lung injury may play a relevant role in this context.

Arterial Perivascular Space‐Mediated Solute Transport in the Mouse Brain

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
The mechanisms underlying solute clearance from the brain parenchyma remain debated, with competing hypotheses involving bulk cerebrospinal fluid flow versus perivascular transport. Using multimodal in vivo imaging and computational modeling in mice, this study demonstrates that arterial pulsation drives bidirectional solute movement within the ...

Cognitive impairment in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders

open access: yesНеврология, нейропсихиатрия, психосоматика
Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) are a group of immune-mediated inflammatory lesions of the central nervous system that primarily cause dysfunction and death of astrocytes, leading to secondary disruption of myelination.

A case report: Diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic hypertrophic pachymeningitis

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 112-116, Spring 2025.
We reported a case of idiopathic hypertrophic dura meningitis diagnosed in our hospital. The patient repeatedly suffered from headaches, followed by blurred vision in the right eye. During this period, multiple sclerosis was considered for diagnosis, and it improved after hormone treatment.

Regulatory Effects of Ammonium Chloride in an In Vitro Model of Hepatic Encephalopathy: Mechanisms Involving ACTA2‐Mediated Cytoskeletal Remodeling

open access: yesiLABMED, EarlyView.
Hyperammonemic stress suppresses ACTA2 expression and induces F‐actin cytoskeletal remodeling in astrocytes. The resulting inhibition of FAK/c‐Src signaling contributes to apoptosis, G2/M arrest, AQP4‐mediated swelling and junction‐associated proteins dysregulation, revealing a central role for ACTA2‐dependent cytoskeletal dysfunction in hepatic ...

Investigation of Cytokines, Biochemical Parameters and Oxidative Stress Levels in Serum of Patients with Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesGenel Tıp Dergisi
Objective: This study aimed to find new serum biochemistry parameters, especially for the early identification of severe AP. In the study serum cytokine levels (TNF-A, IL-1, IL-6, IL-10, IL-21), biochemical parameters (Aquaporin-1, Hepcidine, Iron, Zinc,
