Rechargeable Lithium Batteries with Aqueous Electrolytes

Science, 1994
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that use an aqueous electrolyte have been developed. Cells with LiMn 2 O 4 and VO 2 (B) as electrodes and 5 M LiNO 3 in water as the electrolyte provide a fundamentally safe and cost-effective technology that ...

Brillouin scattering in aqueous electrolyte solutions

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972
Brillouin scattering studies have been carried out in a number of aqueous electrolyte solutions at various concentrations up to 4M. Two types of results have been obtained: (1) hypersonic velocity data from the frequency shift of the Brillouin components; and (2) hypersonic absorption coefficients from the line widths of the Brillouin components.

Non-aqueous electrolyte cell

Journal of Power Sources, 1998
The present invention relates to an improved non-aqueous electrolyte cell comprising an anode, a cathode and a separator spirally wound so that the anode is disposed on the outer side of the cathode to form an electrode assembly. The outermost end of the cathode is wrapped with an electrically insulating material, the anode has a section provided with ...

Modeling aqueous electrolyte solutions. Part 2. Weak electrolytes

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 2009
Abstract In this work the ePC-SAFT model is applied to weak electrolytes, such as weak acids or salts that do form ion pairs. Considering an association/dissociation equilibrium accounts for the fact that the electrolytes are not fully dissociated.

Surface Tension of Aqueous Electrolyte Solutions. Thermodynamics

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012
A thermodynamic theory is developed for obtaining the enthalpic and entropic contributions to the surface excess Gibbs energy of electrolyte solutions from the dependence of the surface tension on concentration and temperature. For elaboration, accurate activity coefficients in solution as functions of concentration and temperature are required.

Sedimentation potential in aqueous electrolytes

Langmuir, 1985

Thermodynamics of Aqueous Mixed Electrolytes

1973
Studies of the thermodynamic properties of aqueous mixed electrolyte solutions have been very useful in increasing our understanding of the nature of specific ion interactions in solution. From both an experimental and theoretical point of view it is convenient to treat these mixtures in terms of the way in which the properties of the mixture differ ...

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell

Journal of Power Sources, 1998
A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery containing an alloy particle capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium in the negative electrode has a short cycle life and is insufficient in high-rate discharge characteristics, since the alloy particle is pulverized during charge/discharge cycles.
