The Progress of Ferroptosis of Immune Cells in the Tumor Microenvironment and Its Impact on Tumorigenesis and Development

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The interplay between ferroptosis and the tumor immune microenvironment significantly influences the outcome of cancer immunotherapy. Inducing ferroptosis in tumor cells and immunosuppressive cells, while preventing ferroptosis in effector immune cells, emerges as a promising strategy to enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy. This review highlights the

Carnosic acid enhances cisplatin sensitivity and suppresses gastric cancer progression via the TP53/SLC7A11/ALOX12 axis

open access: yesHereditas
Background Gastric cancer (GC) remains a significant global health challenge due to its high mortality and frequent resistance to chemotherapy drugs like cisplatin (DDP). Carnosic acid (CA), a phenolic diterpene, exhibits potential anti-cancer properties.

Structure and chromosomal localization of human arachidonate 12-lipoxygenase gene.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1992
Arachidonate 12-lipoxygenase introduces a molecular oxygen into the C-12 position of arachidonic acid to produce 12(S)-hydroperoxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid. With the aid of cDNA probes for the enzyme, we isolated overlapping lambda clones encompassing the human 12-lipoxygenase gene and flanking regions from a human genomic library.

Parent-determined oral montelukast therapy for preschool wheeze with stratification for arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (ALOX5) promoter genotype: a multicentre, randomised, placebo-controlled trial

open access: yesEfficacy and Mechanism Evaluation, 2015
Background: The clinical effectiveness of intermittent montelukast for wheeze in young children is unclear. Previous work has been equivocal. Variation in copy numbers of the specificity protein 1-binding motif in the arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (ALOX5 ...

Fatty acids in veterinary medicine and research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Fatty acid regulation is an essential process for all animals. A number of studies have shown that diet affects the levels/availability of fatty acids in the body but increasingly evidence shows that disease states can alter the amounts within the body ...

Role of cyclooxygenae-2 and 5-lypoxygenase polymorphisms in Alzheimer's disease in a population from northern Italy:implications for pharmacogenomics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder clinically characterized by cognitive deficit with progressive worsening of memory. Recent data indicate that neurons, as well as other brain cells, can express enzymes such as cyclooxygenases ...

Platelet-type Arachidonate 12-Lipoxygenase in Mouse Gastrointestinal Tract.

open access: yesACTA HISTOCHEMICA ET CYTOCHEMICA, 1998
12-Lipoxygenase enzyme oxygenates the position 12 of arachidonic acid, and produces 12S-hydroperoxy-arachidonic acid. When mouse gastrointestinal tract was immunostained with an antiserum against human platelet 12-lipoxygenase and examined by light microscopy, positively-stained cells were found in the epithelium of stomach and small and large ...
