Genetic variability studies in groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)
Seventy groundnut genotypes were evaluated for quantitative and yield parameters. A wide range of variation was observed for important yield components. High estimates of the genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV) were observed for kernel yield per plant followed by the number of branches per plant, harvest index and biological yield per plant.

Optimized extracts from Ficus carica pruning waste exhibit strong biological activity against major stink bug pests. Complementary in silico analyses suggest this efficacy relies on pest‐specific acetylcholinesterase inhibition, predicting a promising, pollinator‐safe alternative for sustainable agriculture.

Food without fire: Environmental and nutritional impacts from a solar stove field experiment
Abstract Over 80% of the population in rural Sub‐Saharan Africa relies on biomass cooking fuel, a substantial source of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. We use a field experiment in Zambia to investigate the impact of solar stoves on biomass fuel use and cooking habits.

Abstract The South African citrus thrips, Scirtothrips aurantii Faure, 1929, has been recorded in Italy for the first time. This species was recently reported in Spain and Portugal. Its presence has been confirmed in the major citrus‐growing area of Catania province (Sicily), infesting citrus trees. S. aurantii is currently included in the EPPO A1 List

ABSTRACT Understanding the chemical and behavioural ecology of the Neotropical brown stink bug, Euschistus heros (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is essential for developing effective integrated pest management (IPM) strategies in South American soybean production. This study investigated the courtship behaviour and diel periodicity of sex pheromone emission.

ABSTRACT Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oilseed and cash crop, and seed sucrose content (SSC), seed oil content (SOC) and seed protein content (SPC) are key determinants of seed flavour, texture, and overall quality. Identifying quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and candidate genes associated with SSC, SOC and SPC is therefore of ...
