Security, user experience, acceptability attributes for the integration of physical and virtual identity access management systems

open access: yes, 2012
A number of systems have been developed in the recent history to provide physical and virtual identity management systems; however, most have not been very successful.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Extension of the CityGML Schema for a New Model of Accessible Urban Environment [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
The study explores the extension of the CityGML schema to improve accessibility analysis in urban environments. Given the increasing focus on making cities more inclusive, particularly historical centres, managing urban accessibility requires a ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

The impact of inclusive architectural strategies on social inclusion characteristics in innovation hubs in Southwest Nigeria

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment
Innovation hubs foster collaboration, creativity, and economic growth. However, the inclusivity of these spaces remains a critical factor in ensuring equal access and participation by diverse users.

Discursive design thinking: the role of explicit knowledge in creative architectural design reasoning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The main hypothesis investigated in this paper is based upon the suggestion that the discursive reasoning in architecture supported by an explicit knowledge of spatial configurations can enhance both design productivity and the intelligibility of design ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
