Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

Salmonella enterica serovar typhi limits the potency of typhoid toxin and ADP‐ribosylating toxin AB to establish a persistent infection

The two catalytic subunits of typhoid toxin dissociate from the holotoxin in the ER of an intoxicated cell, but only CdtB exits the ER to generate immunosuppressive effects. PltA is retained in the ER and sequestered from its cytosolic target, thus allowing the anti‐inflammatory effects of CdtB to promote intestinal colonization.

Summer snow on Arctic sea ice modulated by the Arctic Oscillation

Since the 1970s, Arctic sea ice has undergone unprecedented change, becoming thinner, less extensive and less resilient to summer melt. Snow's high albedo greatly reduces solar absorption in sea ice and the upper ocean, which mitigates sea-ice melt and ocean warming. However, the drivers of summertime snow depth variability are unknown.
