An Arf1 GTPase mutant with different responses to GEF inhibitors
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2008Guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) stimulate the activation of small GTP-binding proteins (GTPases). Establishing their specificity is a challenging issue, in which chemical genetics are rapidly gaining interest. We report a mutation in the Arf1 GTPase, K38A, which differentially alters its sensitivity to GEF inhibitors.

ARF1 regulatory factors and COPI vesicle formation
Current Opinion in Cell Biology, 2002Understanding the biosynthetic pathways involved in cellular transport is an important issue in cell biology. More than a hundred years after the discovery of the Golgi apparatus, we still do not understand the regulation of vesicular transport to, within and from the Golgi apparatus.

ARF1, a Transcription Factor That Binds to Auxin Response Elements
Science, 1997The plant hormone auxin regulates plant physiology by modulating the interaction of transcription factors with auxin response elements (AuxREs) of the affected genes. A transcription factor, Auxin Response Factor 1 (ARF1), that binds to the sequence TGTCTC in AuxREs was cloned from Arabidopsis by using a yeast one ...
