Functional activity of vasopressin analog desglycinamide-arginine-vasopressin

Biology Bulletin, 2006
Original and published data on the functional activity of neurohypophyseal hormone vasopressin and its analog DGAVP were analyzed with a particular focus on the pattern of the peptide effect on the hemostatic system. The effects of the natural hormone and its synthetic analog on some indices of coagulation and fibrinolysis were compared. The effects of

Effect of TRH on Plasma Arginine Vasopressin

Hormone Research, 1984
Effect of thyrotropic releasing hormone (TRH) on plasma arginine vasopressin (AVP) was studied in human subjects. All 7 normal controls and 2 hypothyrotropic hypothyroid subjects failed to show any rise of AVP on TRH administration. The 4 primary hypothyroid subjects had elevated basal AVP level and showed further elevation on TRH administration.

Arginine Vasopressin, Stress, and Memorya

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1985
Arginine vasopressin (AVP) has been shown to have several non-renal actions including the potentiation of learned avoidance behavior in rats and improvement in cognitive functioning in humans. Research in our laboratory has confirmed these behavioral effects in rats using both peripheral and central injection of AVP.

Radioimmunoassay of Arginine Vasopressin in Human Plasma

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1971
ABSTRACT A sensitive double-antibody radioimmunoassay for the measurement of arginine vasopressin (AVP) in plasma is described. Vasopressin has been extracted from plasma by adsorption to Florisil followed by elution with acidacetone. Assay of serial dilutions of such extracts shows that they behave in the assay system in the same way as synthetic AVP ...
