Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

ESQUEMA DE ARGUMENTO DE TOULMIN COMO INSTRUMENTO DE ENSINO: EXPLORANDO POSSIBILIDADES

open access: yesEnsaio Pesquisa em Educação em Ciências, 2014
Argumentation is a recent focus in science education research, sothere are many areas requiring further research. Questions that need to be addressed include the following: “Is the quality of argumentation determined by the presence of particular ...

Diskursive Konstituierung von Kulturlandschaft am Beispiel politischer Windenergiediskurse in Deutschland

open access: yesRaumforschung und Raumordnung, 2012
There are numerous ways to define ‘landscape’ or ‘cultural landscape’—a fact that can be irritating. We do not propose any “new” notion of landscape. By contrast we examine how ‘landscape’ and ‘cultural landscape’ acquire meaning in political discourses.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

An Approach to Argumentation Schemes that Appeal to Expert Opinion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Argumentation is a form of reasoning that deeply resembles the human mechanism for commonsense reasoning. An argumentation scheme is a representational tool for modeling common patterns of reasoning; in particular, it displays the form of an argument by ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

On the Knowledge of God and the Metaphysics of Aquinas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Thomas Aquinas argues in his seminal work, the Summa Theologiae, that one can come to know the existence of God through rational argumentation alone. As a theologian writing a work of theology, he makes his demonstrations concerning God’s existence from ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Tectonophysical conditions of late stages of evolution in the middle part of Transcarpathian deep fault

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2015
There is a problem of the mechanism of Neogene magmatism appearance in Transcarpathia within  tectonic evolution of the Carpathian-Pannonian region. In consideration of general submeridional compression the new kinematic and dynamic scheme of Neogene ...
