How the Carrier Mobility and Seebeck Coefficient of Doped Semiconducting Polymers Are Controlled by Counterion Interactions and Mesoscale Order

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional doping of P3HT with F4TCNQ results in poor charge transport. However, when F4TCNQ is exchanged with LiTFSI, the transport characteristics are greatly enhanced. We find the increase in charge transport is directly related to an increase in the mesoscale ordering of P3HT, resulting in longer and better‐connected transport pathways.

Statistical nature of cluster emission in nuclear liquid-vapour phase coexistence

open access: yes, 2004
The emission of nuclear clusters is investigated within the framework of isospin dependent lattice gas model and classical molecular dynamics model. It is found that the emission of individual cluster which is heavier than proton is almost Poissonian ...

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Condensation of solids in space. Isotope fractionation in the model system C-O [PDF]

open access: yes
The reported chemical fractionation of a single isotope O-16 under simulated space conditions provides the first experimental proof for the hypothesis that the oxygen isotopic anomaly (and other similar anomalies) seen in meteorites is a product of ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.

Alkaline Leaching: A Facile Surface Activation Strategy to Improve the Reactivity of Air Electrodes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that alkaline leaching of PrBa0.8Ca0.2Co2O5+δ under anodic bias selectively removes Ba and Ca, forming a cobalt‐rich and amorphous layer. The modified surface significantly boosts ORR activity, offering a simple and effective strategy to improve electrochemical device performance.

Population Ethics under Risk [PDF]

open access: yes
Population axiology concerns how to evaluate populations in terms of their moral goodness, that is, how to order populations by the relations “is better than” and “is as good as”.

Diffusion of hydrogen in crystalline silicon

open access: yes, 1999
The coefficient of diffusion of hydrogen in crystalline silicon is calculated using tight-binding molecular dynamics. Our results are in good quantitative agreement with an earlier study by Panzarini and Colombo [Phys. Rev. Lett.
