Integrated petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical data from the Hastanetepe Pb–Zn deposit (Balya, Türkiye) reveal multi‐stage hydrothermal alteration and a magmatic sulphur source. Fluid inclusion and sulphur isotope results indicate a complex fluid evolution responsible for skarn‐type Pb–Zn mineralization along limestone–dacite contacts ...

Trypanosomatid Aquaporins: Roles in Physiology and Drug Response [PDF]
In the class Kinetoplastida, we find an order of parasitic protozoans classified as Trypanosomatids. Three major pathogens form part of this order, Trypanosoma cruzi, Trypanosoma brucei, and Leishmania, which are responsible for disease and fatalities in

What's New? While the effectiveness of systemic anticancer therapy is well documented, it commonly causes severe toxicity. This study of the 467 systemic anticancer therapy agents currently approved globally for clinical and/or research purposes found that peripheral neurotoxicity is associated with 45% of classical chemotherapies, 21% of targeted ...

SUMOylation, a dynamic post‐translational modification, acts as a master regulator at the heart of tumor malignancy. Our work delineates how the SUMOylation cycle—mediated by E1/E2/E3 enzymes and reversed by SENPs—orchestrates multiple hallmarks of cancer. The central pathway converges on three critical pathological axes: 1.

Bacteroides fragilis is associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D) arterial calcification and can be activated by macrophage‐derived extracellular vesicles (EVs). BF takes up EVs via receptor‐mediated endocytosis, and activation is induced by EV‐derived Mef2d, thereby inhibiting ArsR family transcriptional regulator transcription.

Insights into antitrypanosomal drug mode-of-action from cytology-based profiling.
Chemotherapy continues to have a major impact on reducing the burden of disease caused by trypanosomatids. Unfortunately though, the mode-of-action (MoA) of antitrypanosomal drugs typically remains unclear or only partially characterised.

ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that paternal environmental factors have epigenetic effects on sperm and influence offspring. Neonicotinoid pesticides (NNs), which are widely used around the world, are known to affect offspring phenotypes through maternal exposure in mice, but the effect of the paternal exposure remains unknown.
