ARTEMIA BIOENCAPSULATION I. EFFECT OF PARTICLE SIZES ON THE FILTERING BEHAVIOR OF ARTEMIA FRANCISCANA [PDF]
Abstract Artemia is not believed to be a selective filter-feeding organism; however, evidence of an influence of the size of the nutrient particles on the filtration process of this crustacean is presented. To evaluate the influence of the size of food on the filtration process, assays with latex particles and with starch granules were made. A relation

Axial muscle‐fibre orientations in larval zebrafish
In 4 days post‐fertilization zebrafish larvae, the fast axial muscle fibres follow helical trajectories that taper towards the tail. Adjacent muscle fibres form substantial angles relative to each other to accommodate this pattern. Using a novel semi‐automatic method, we quantified 3D fibre angles over the whole muscle volume.

Abstract Introduction Coral reef restoration increasingly relies on scalable methods, yet outcomes vary across species, propagation techniques, and habitats. Coral seeding, where coral propagules are settled on deployment units before outplanting, provides a flexible approach that accommodates both asexual (e.g. microfragments) and sexual (e.g.

Mathematical model of the zebrafish ventricular cardiomyocyte action potential and calcium transient
Abstract figure legend This study presents the development and validation of the first biophysically detailed computational model of the zebrafish ventricular action potential (AP). The model is based on a human cardiomyocyte framework and reparameterized using published and newly generated patch‐clamp recordings of zebrafish ionic currents.
