Nymphal development took longer at 25°C than 30°C, and the Greek N. tenuis population developed more slowly than the commercial population. Nymphs clearly preferred E. kuehniella eggs over Artemia sp. cysts when both were offered equally. Egg production increased at 30°C, while female longevity declined.

Abstract Brine shrimp larvae have been successfully used as a biological monitoring system in the isolation of 5 naturally occurring, toxic 12,13- epoxy-Δ9-trichothecenes. A simplified procedure is described for the biological confirmation of these mycotoxins.

Citotoxic Activity of Extracts and Sesquiterpene Lactones from Stachycephalum argentinum
