Artificial lighting to enhance color perception

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurements and Applications Proceedings, 2012
Today, research areas related to color vision have become very important. By improving the quality of color perception, the color capturing capability of humans can be augmented. This may mean the extension of color gamut perception of people having good color vision facilities via electronic devices and also the support of color deficient people.

Fuzzy Aggregation with Artificial Color filters

Information Sciences, 2010
Artificial Color filters are designed to attenuate some pixels and pass others. The pass/attenuate decision is made on the basis of the learned association of spectral components with user-defined concepts. In earlier work, it has been shown that there are various ways to design Artificial Color filters using multiple user-designated classes and those ...

Artificial color vision: a preliminary study

Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2004
Animals accomplish color vision by characterizing the scene in two or more spectrally overlapping bands, normalizing to minimize brightness effects, computing spectral discriminants (called hues) from the normalized readings, and attributing those hues to the scene with the brightness variations restored in the "colored image." We explore doing the ...

Behavioral Responses to Artificial Food Colors

Science, 1980
Twenty-two young children, maintained on a diet that excluded certain foods, were challenged intermittently with a blend of seven artificial colors in a double-blind trial. Parents' observations provided the criteria of response. One child that responded mildly to the challenge and one that responded dramatically were detected.

From pherographia to color pherographia: Color sketching with artificial ants

2011 IEEE Congress of Evolutionary Computation (CEC), 2011
Ant algorithms are known to return effective results in those problems that may be reduced to finding paths through a graph. However, this class of bio-inspired heuristics have raised the interest of the artistic community as well, namely of the artists that work on the blurred border between art and science. This paper describes an extension of an ant
