A Toolkit for Targeted Neuromodulation of Striatal Direct Pathway Neurons Rescues Parkinsonian Motor Deficits in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An adeno‐associated virus (AAV) toolkit enables selective anatomical and functional targeting of striatal D1‐MSNs through retrograde transduction. Enhanced capsids and engineered enhancers drive robust transgene expression across murine and primate models.

Two Routes to Land: Genomic Underpinnings of Parallel Aerial Egg Deposition in Aquatic Old‐World Pila and New‐World Pomacea (Ampullariidae)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Biological Evaluation of Spodoptera Frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Reared on Various Artificial Diets Compared to the Main Host [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection and Pathology
Spodoptera frugiperda is a destructive lepidopteran pest that seriously affects many crops. To obtain experimental individuals for use in IPM experiments., it is crucial to improve the rearing technique for S. frugiperda.

Silkworm Pupae Function as Efficient Producers of Recombinant Glycoproteins with Stable-Isotope Labeling

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2020
Baculovirus-infected silkworms are promising bioreactors for producing recombinant glycoproteins, including antibodies. Previously, we developed a method for isotope labeling of glycoproteins for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies using silkworm ...

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

A Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas of the Ovine Rumen Microbiome Characterizes Lineage‐Specific Metabolic Shifts Associated with Host Heat Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optimized single‐cell transcriptomic framework profiles over 60 000 cells to map the ovine rumen microbiome, partitioning the ecosystem into seven cross‐species functional clusters. In heat‐resistant hosts, a lineage‐specific metabolic shift in Anaerovibrio lipolyticus toward a highly glycolytic phenotype contributes to a “nutritional sparing ...

Survival and Metabolic Enzyme Response of Spodoptera exigua Larvae Under Different Nutritional Conditions

open access: yesAgronomy
Spodoptera exigua has emerged as a globally agricultural pest due to its strong adaptability to diverse nutritional conditions. In this study, we used artificial diets with a protein-to-carbohydrate (P:C) ratio of 1:1 as the control and examined the ...

Consumo e utilização de alimento por Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) em duas temperaturas Consumption and utilization of food by Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) at two different temperatures

Microbial Flora of Artificial Fish Diets

open access: yesFish Pathology, 1976
Twenty different fish diets marketed in Japan were examined for the microbial flora. The total counts of aerobic bacteria determined at 30°C ranged from 1.8×103 to 8.0×105 pergram of diet with a mean value of 1.4×105. The microflora of these diets were consisted mainly of Gram-positive bacteria, and the most predominant organisms belong to the genus ...
