D₂ Dopamine Receptors Colocalize Regulator of G-Protein Signaling 9-2 (RGS9-2) via the RGS9 DEP Domain, and RGS9 Knock-Out Mice Develop Dyskinesias Associated with Dopamine Pathways [PDF]
Regulator of G-protein signaling 9-2 (RGS9-2), a member of the RGS family of Gα GTPase accelerating proteins, is expressed specifically in the striatum, which participates in antipsychotic-induced tardive dyskinesia and in levodopa-induced dyskinesia. We

This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

Oocyte activation: The impact of calcium signals on fertilization [PDF]
Fertilization is triggered by changes in intracellular calcium concentration. In mammals, these transients in ooplasmic calcium concentration take the form of repetitive spikes, so called calcium oscillations (Ca2+-oscillations).

Reverse chemical ecology approach for the identification of an oviposition attractant for Culex quinquefasciatus. [PDF]
Pheromones and other semiochemicals play a crucial role in today's integrated pest and vector management strategies. These semiochemicals are typically discovered by bioassay-guided approaches.

The present status of artificial oocyte activation in assisted reproductive technology
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is the most effective treatment for achieving fertilization in assisted reproductive technology (ART). However, fertilization failure occurs. The incidence of fertilization failure after ICSI is 1–5%. Approximately 50% of fertilization failure cases could be attributed to the abnormality of sperm factor.

MTCA‐Net: Multi‐Task Cascade Analysis Network for Real‐Time Sperm Quality Analysis
This article proposes MTCA‐Net, a multi‐task cascaded analysis network for real‐time sperm quality assessment in intracytoplasmic sperm injection. The framework integrates detection, tracking, and segmentation modules to jointly analyze sperm morphology and motility.

The effect of leukaemia inhibitory factor (LIF) on bovine embryo development in vitro : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science in Animal Science at Massey University [PDF]
The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of Leukaemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) either during in vitro maturation (IVM) or in vitro culture (IVC) on bovine embryo development. Three main experiments were conducted using oocytes aspirated from 2-8

Formal Systems Architectures for Biology [PDF]
When the word "systems" is used in systems biology, it invokes a variety of assumptions about what defines the subject under investigation, which in turn can lead to divergent research outcomes.
