Recombinant Production and Characterization of Six Ene‐reductases from Penicillium steckii
This study explores the catalytic potential of novel ene‐reductases (ERs) from Penicillium steckii, a fungal species known for valuable metabolites. Through the recombinant production and purification of six ERs, we identified diverse substrate profiles and moderate stability.

Abstract Ascochyta blight (AB) disease, caused by the fungal pathogen Ascochyta rabiei, is a major production constraint in many chickpea‐growing regions worldwide, causing substantial reductions in grain yield and seed quality. The management of AB is challenging due to limited genetic resistance and the evolving aggressiveness of A. rabiei. Currently,

Development of Didymella rabiei on chickpea plant residues
Ascochyta blight caused by Ascochyta rabiei (Pass.) Labrousse is the economically most important disease on chick pea in many countries where the crop is grown. Under moist conditions the fungus Asc. Rabiei grows fast from the spots, covering the entire

Pathogen effectors from fungi, oomycetes, bacteria and nematodes manipulate plant transcription factors through diverse strategies, including degradation, activity modulation, and subcellular relocalization. ABSTRACT In the coevolutionary process between plant pathogens and hosts, pathogen effectors, primarily proteinaceous, engage in interactions with

Gene expression profiling of chitinase and β-1,3 glucanase in chickpea infected by Ascochyta blight [PDF]
Induced resistance to pathogen is one of the ways which plants use against biotic stresses. Pathogenesis-related proteins(PR), including chitinase and β-1,3-glucanase synthesized by the plant in response to pathogenic infection.

When crop disease epidemics occur during the growing season, they can cause substantial yield losses, leading to unrecoverable financial losses. Our research highlights the value of plant breeding strategies that are aligned with each grower's individual risk tolerance to effectively mitigate the impact of these adverse conditions.

Investigation of resistance using STMS markers against Ascochyta blight in the chickpea varieties
Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), a prominent legume plant, is an important agricultural plant that is widely grown both in Türkiye and around the world. Ascochyta blight, caused by the fungal phytopathogen Ascochyta rabiei, is one of the major causative ...
