Optimization of methods for aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase.

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1978
Abstract Conditions for accurate measurement of catalytic activity of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase in human serum have been reinvestigated. The basic variables (kind of buffer, buffer concentration, pH, ion effects, and the influence of pyridoxal-5-phosphate) can now be considered optimized.

Analysis of the Longitudinal Behavior of Serum Levels of Soluble Flt1 and Placental Growth Factor in Pregnant Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study analyzed longitudinal trajectories of soluble Flt1 (sFlt1) levels, placenta growth factor (PlGF) levels, and sFlt1:PlGF ratios in a cohort of pregnant patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods Blood samples were collected (14–18, 24–26, 30–32, 34–36, and 38–40 weeks), stored at −80°C, and evaluated for serum levels ...

Risk of Hepatotoxicity in Patients With Gout Treated With Febuxostat or Benzbromarone: A Propensity Score–Matched Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the risk of hepatotoxicity associated with the use of febuxostat and benzbromarone in patients with gout. Methods New users of febuxostat or benzbromarone with monitoring of liver function at least three times in a year after initiation of the study drugs were identified from an ...

A Novel Protein‐Polysaccharide Oral Nanoemulsion Targeting Activated Hepatic Stellate Cells to Enhance the Therapeutic Effect of Pirfenidone on Fibrosis After Transarterial Chemoembolization for Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) may aggravate liver fibrosis. In this study, a novel oral targeting nanoemulsion is fabricated to enhance the therapeutic effect of antifibrotic drug‐pirfenidone (PFD) on fibrosis after TACE. Studies have shown that PFD nanoemulsion can enhance the oral liver targeting effect of PFD, and effectively improve the ...

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

Effect of Temperature and storage time on Hepatobiliary enzyme activities in Goat serum [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2010
The present study was designed and conducted to choose an ideal storage condition for goat sera samples meant for the assay of hepatobiliary enzymes such as, alanine aminotransferases(ALT), aspartate aminotransferases (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP ...
