Evaluation of the effects of hydroalcoholic extract of Berberis vulgaris root on the activity of liver enzymes in male hypercholesterolemic rats [PDF]

open access: yesAvicenna Journal of Phytomedicine, 2012
Objectives: Hyperlipidemia can cause a variety of diseases such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, and fatty liver which is followed by increased liver enzymes. Since Berberis vulgaris (B. vulgaris) root possesses antioxidant properties, the present study was

RPL6 Interacts with HMGCS1 to Stabilize HIF‐1α by Promoting Cholesterol Production in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study found that RPL6 is frequently upregulated in HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis. Elevated RPL6 bound to and increased the stability of HMGCS1 mRNA, thereby enhancing intracellular cholesterol levels. Subsequently, increased cholesterol promotes cancer metastasis in HCC by stabilizing HIF‐1α protein.

Alleviation of diabetic complications by ginsenoside Rg3-enriched red ginseng extract in western diet-fed LDL–/– mice

open access: yesJournal of Ginseng Research, 2018
In this study, we precisely showed how the Rg3-enriched red ginseng extract (Rg3-RGE) lowers glucose, triglyceride, and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels in LDL–/– mice.

Responsive ROS‐Augmented Prodrug Hybridization Nanoassemblies for Multidimensionally Synergitic Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Cascade Assaults

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposes a novel HCC therapy using CA‐4S2@ES‐Cu nanomedicines to amplify cuproptosis, enhancing chemotherapy and immunotherapy. CA‐4 and ES‐Cu synergistically inhibit tumor growth, induce immune responses, and reverse the immunosuppressive microenvironment, offering an effective multidimensional therapeutic strategy for HCC treatment ...

A MXene‐Based Nanothermal Knife Inhibits Aggresome‐Mediated Persister Formation for Preventing Dental Caries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early childhood caries (ECC) involves cariogenic persisters that evade antimicrobial treatment. Persisters achieve this by downregulating heat shock proteins (HSPs) and formation of protein aggregates. Ti3C2 MXene‐based photothermal therapy (PTT) acts as a “nanothermal knife,” disrupting membranes, upregulating HSPs, inhibits aggregates, prevents ...

ORL@Cu‐MOF Boost Cuproptosis and Suppress Fatty Acid Metabolism for Cancer Lymph Node Metastasis Synergistic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The fabrication of ORL@Cu‐MOF and the mechanism of synergistic therapy by cuproptosis, reprogram fatty acid metabolism and anti‐PD‐1. Abstract Lymph node metastasis (LNM) is one of the significant characteristics of poor prognosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), strongly associated with high mortality rates.

Novel Quaternary Ammonium Salt‐Linked STING Agonist Antibody‐Drug Conjugate: Synergistic Activation of Tumor Immunity with Mitigated Off‐Target Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Novel quaternary ammonium salt‐linked STING agonist ADC demonstrates high potency, stability, enhanced solubility, and reduced off‐target toxicity, potently activating the STING pathway in the tumor microenvironment through the synergistic action of the Fab and Fc regions of antibodies (activity switch‐on) while exhibiting ≈20 fold lower activity in ...
