Boosting Photo‐Pyroelectric Effect via Tunable Polarization and Interfacial Defect Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports Ba(Ti0.85Zr0.15)O3 nanocatalysts with enhanced polarization and oxygen‐vacancy‐rich interfaces for efficient NIR‐II photo‐pyroelectric therapy. Zr doping boosts the pyroelectric coefficient and accelerates polarization switching, while oxygen vacancies improve photothermal conversion and surface reactivity.

Deficiency of the purinergic receptor 2X7 attenuates nonalcoholic steatohepatitis induced by high-fat diet. possible role of the NLRP3 Inflammasome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Molecular mechanisms driving transition from simple steatosis to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a critical step in the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to cirrhosis, are poorly defined. This study aimed at investigating the

AML‐Targeted Metal‐Polyphenol Nanoplatform Induces Ferroptosis‐ICD Cascade for Antitumor Immunity Boosting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the synthesis protocol for Fe‐SH@Fn, an AML‐targeted nanoplatform engineered to co‐deliver shikonin (SH) and Fe3+, synergistically boosting antitumor immunity via ferroptosis induction and immunogenic cell death (ICD). ABSTRACT Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains a therapeutic challenge due to its low immunogenicity and ...

Effect of Vitamin E and C Supplementation on Liver Enzymes of Mice Exposed to Sodium Nitrate

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Medicine, 2019
Background: The liver is the major organ responsible for metabolism, detoxification, and secretory functions in the body. Vitamin C is an essential co-factor, acting as a reducing agent and may have heaptoprotective property. Vitamin E is an antioxidant

Sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of persons who experienced spontaneous hepatitis C viral clearance. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BackgroundIn the United States Hepatitis C virus (HCV) viral clearance is estimated to range between 20 and 30%. The objective of this study was to estimate the frequency of HCV clearance and identify correlates of viral clearance among patients newly ...

Tailored Porous Bimetallic Nanozyme Platform for Full‐Cycle Therapeutics of Intestinal Ischemia/Reperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury presents a biphasic pathology: an acute oxidative‐inflammatory phase leading to organ failure, and a recovery phase marked by mucosal dysfunction and bacterial translocation. The developed MPB@TA‐Cu‐Ma nanocomposite functions as a dual‐phase therapeutic platform with significant efficacy. It rapidly

Quantitative constraint-based computational model of tumor-to-stroma coupling via lactate shuttle

open access: yes, 2015
Cancer cells utilize large amounts of ATP to sustain growth, relying primarily on non-oxidative, fermentative pathways for its production. In many types of cancers this leads, even in the presence of oxygen, to the secretion of carbon equivalents ...

Neutrophil‐Driven Cascade‐Targeted Nanocarriers Restore Mitochondrial Homeostasis to Ameliorate Renal Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A neutrophil‐mediated dual‐targeting liposome (NKN‐LNP) is developed to treat renal ischemia–reperfusion injury. The system enables spatiotemporally controlled delivery of NMN to injured tubules via MMP‐2/9 activation and KIM1 recognition, restoring mitochondrial function through NAD+‐SIRT3 signaling and preventing the transition from acute kidney ...
