Aspergillus fumigatus

1999
Aspergillus fumigatus has become one of the most important fungal human pathogens in industrialized countries. It causes different diseases like allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, aspergilloma, and invasive aspergillosis depending on the underlying disease as well as the immunological status of the host. A.

Immunoblot fingerprinting Aspergillus fumigatus

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1989
A new technique for typing Aspergillus fumigatus is presented. This is based on immunoblot fingerprinting each isolate against a rabbit hyperimmune antiserum raised against A. fumigatus NCTC 2109. All isolates were typable and reproducibility for the 16 antigenic bands which formed the basis of the system was excellent.

Molecular genetics in Aspergillus fumigatus

Current Opinion in Microbiology, 2000
Manipulation of the genome of the human pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus is not well developed. Approaches and data from related model organisms are being used to develop molecular genetic systems in A. fumigatus; for example, the molecular typing of strains during infection.

Immunity and tolerance to Aspergillus fumigatus.

Novartis Foundation symposium, 2006
The inherent resistance to diseases caused by Aspergillus fumigatus suggests the occurrence of regulatory mechanisms that provide the host with adequate defence without necessarily eliminating the fungus or causing unacceptable levels of host damage. Efficient responses to the fungus require different mechanisms of immunity.

Phospholipases ofAspergillus fumigatus

2014
Phospholipases are a group of esterases that are composed of two major categories, the acyl hydrolases and the phosphodiesterases. Investigations on the phospholipases of Aspergillus species have been very limited to date. Indirect evidence for extracellular phospholipase activity was demonstrated in Aspergillus fumigatus by identifying the ...
