Background Filaggrin‐2 (FLG2) and hornerin (HRNR) are members of the S100 fused‐type protein family, which share many properties with filaggrin (FLG). A previous study demonstrated that the expression of FLG2 was significantly decreased in psoriatic skin

A valve assembly is reported for controlling the flow of fluids between the inlet and outlet of a fluid valve. The valve assembly contains a barrier element which is porous for providing fluid communication between the valve inlet and outlet.

Dualizing the coarse assembly map
We formulate and study a new coarse (co-)assembly map. It involves a modification of the Higson corona construction and produces a map dual in an appropriate sense to the standard coarse assembly map. The new assembly map is shown to be an isomorphism in

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Pressurized lighting system [PDF]
Safe lighting assembly has been constructed for hostile environments. Assembly is ventilated by inert gas to prolong life of lamps. Lighting assembly contains control box, number of lamps connected in parallel, several pilot lights, and ventilating ...

Approximate Self-Assembly of the Sierpinski Triangle
The Tile Assembly Model is a Turing universal model that Winfree introduced in order to study the nanoscale self-assembly of complex (typically aperiodic) DNA crystals.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Cerulean: A hybrid assembly using high throughput short and long reads
Genome assembly using high throughput data with short reads, arguably, remains an unresolvable task in repetitive genomes, since when the length of a repeat exceeds the read length, it becomes difficult to unambiguously connect the flanking regions.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
