PRIMARY XYLEM ELEMENTS AND ELEMENT ASSOCIATIONS OF ANGIOSPERMS

American Journal of Botany, 1965
Observations based on a study of more than 1350 species distributed among 165 families of angiosperms are presented. The tracheary elements which mature later than the helical ones in the protoxylem‐metaxylem transition are described in terms of a 2‐phase wall deposition process.

On rings with associated elements

Communications in Algebra, 2016
ABSTRACTA principal right ideal of a ring is called uniquely generated if any two elements of the ring that generate the same principal right ideal must be right associated (i.e., if for all a,b in a ring R, aR = bR implies a = bu for some unit u of R).

Association of different mobile elements to generate novel integrative elements

Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences (CMLS), 2002
Among the more important problems in modern hospitals is the prevalence of bacterial pathogens expressing resistance to multiple antimicrobial agents. The frequency of multiresistance suggests mechanisms by which bacterial species can concentrate and efficiently exchange a variety of resistance determinants.

An integrated associative memory element

1969 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference. Digest of Technical Papers, 1969
The design of an integrated, parallel-organized, associative memory element containing the majority of repetitive logic required to implement a large, flexible associative memory system will be described.

Limited dorsal myeloschisis associated with dermoid elements

Child's Nervous System, 2016
Limited dorsal myeloschisis (LDM) originates from undisjointed neural and cutaneous ectoderms during primary neurulation. Its hallmark is a fibroneural stalk causing tethering on the dorsal spinal cord rostral to the conus. Its treatment is a relatively straightforward resection of the LDM stalk from the spinal cord.On reviewing our series of 75 cases ...

Elements for upset hardened associative memories

2018 7th International Conference on Modern Circuits and Systems Technologies (MOCAST), 2018
The hardened logical elements on base the STG DICE memory cell are studying for using in an associative memory. The TCAD simulation of the 65-nm CMOS elements shows the resistance to impacts of single nuclear particles up to 60 MeV×cm2/mg. Short-term noise pulses less 600 ps can be on the output of a combinational logic of elements at the linear energy

An Adaptive, Associative Optical Computing Element

Topical Meeting on Optical Computing, 1985
An associative memory is essentially a mechanism for storing pairs of information patterns u¯ and v¯, so that at a later time presentation of one pattern, u¯, will result in recall of the other, v¯. These information patterns are represented here as time-varying vectors, u¯, v¯, of n discrete binary or analogue elements. These vectors could encode,

Transposable elements in disease-associated cryptic exons

Human Genetics, 2009
Transposable elements (TEs) make up a half of the human genome, but the extent of their contribution to cryptic exon activation that results in genetic disease is unknown. Here, a comprehensive survey of 78 mutation-induced cryptic exons previously identified in 51 disease genes revealed the presence of TEs in 40 cases (51%).

G556 Elemental formula associated hypophosphataemic rickets

BRITISH SOCIETY FOR PAEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGY AND DIABETES, 2019
Objectives Hypophosphataemic rickets (HR) is usually secondary to renal phosphate wasting but may occur secondary to reduced intake or absorption of phosphate. We describe a series of cases of HR associated with the use of Neocate®, an amino-acid based formula (AAF).
