Using an inferior decoy alternative to nudge COVID-19 vaccination

open access: yesScientific Reports
Optimizing vaccine uptake is a public health challenge that requires the implementation of effective strategies. The asymmetric dominance (or decoy) effect describes the increasing likelihood of selecting an option when a clearly inferior alternative is ...

Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Asymmetric Monetary Policy Effects in EMU [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper uses a semi-structural dynamic modelling approach to investigate asymmetric monetary transmission in Europe. A system of equations containing reaction functions for monetary policy, output and inflation equations is simultaneously estimated ...

High autistic traits linked with reduced performance on affective task switching: An ERP study

open access: yesNeuroImage
Few studies have investigated affective flexibility in individuals with high autistic traits. In the present study, we employed affective task-switching paradigm combined with event related potential (ERP) technology to explore affective flexibility in ...

Impact of Significant Dyads on Dominance Indices in Pigs

open access: yesAnimals, 2019
Dominance indices are calculated by considering the differences between the number of won and lost fights. Whether these differences show a significant asymmetric outcome or not is neglected.

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Dominance and competitive bundling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We study how bundling affects competition between two asymmetric multi-product firms. One firm dominates the other in that it produces better products more efficiently.

Local dominance unveils clusters in networks

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Clusters or communities can provide a coarse-grained description of complex systems at multiple scales, but their detection remains challenging in practice.

From oil to renewable energy systems: China's role in asymmetric interdependence and soft power

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews
Neoliberal institutionalism posits that asymmetric interdependence is a source of state power, exercised through mechanisms of control of resources as well as the capacity to set agenda and standards. This paper explores asymmetric interdependence in oil
