Analysis and control of Twin Wind Turbine subject to asymmetric fault
2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA), 2020The concept of healthy twin wind turbines is recently studied in the literature. Control in the dq-frame, based on the symmetric of the healthy system, has been proposed. Nevertheless the robustness of such control with respect to asymmetric faults has not been studied.

Transient Characteristics of Synchronverters Subjected to Asymmetric Faults
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019Since the large fault inrush current threatens the safety of power electronic devices, the synchronverter should have the fault ride-through (FRT) capability and should be equipped with a reliable protection system. Therefore, it is important to study the transient fault characteristics of the synchronverter and propose its fault current estimation ...

A fast simulation model of PMSG with asymmetric control during an asymmetric grid fault
2016 China International Conference on Electricity Distribution (CICED), 2016This paper presents a fast simulation method of PMSG, which adopts positive and negative sequence current separate control strategy during an asymmetric grid fault. Based on analysis of fault characteristics, the asymmetric control strategy is developed in PSCAD, aiming to alleviate the adverse effects on converter and grid during an asymmetric grid ...

The control of the asymmetric ground fault current of the line
2011 International Conference on Advanced Power System Automation and Protection, 2011During the asymmetric ground fault, the relationship of the current through the line with the inserting voltage and the inserting inductance is analyzed and a novel control method for the asymmetric ground fault current is presented. When the ground fault occurs, the fault current can be controlled to zero and the current through the fault line can be ...

Testing Comparison and Delay Faults of TCAMs With Asymmetric Cells
IEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 2010Ternary content addressable memory (TCAM) is one key component in high-performance networking applications. An asymmetric TCAM cell consists of a binary content addressable memory (BCAM) bit and a mask bit. In this paper, we analyze comparison faults of the asymmetric TCAM cell based on BCAM comparison faults.

Signals Passing Through Asymmetric Faults in Transmission Lines
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2021Unexpected results have been seen in multiple papers involving spread spectrum time domain reflectometry (SSTDR) measurements on twin lead cables with one line containing a fault. A small portion of the signal is able to transmit past the fault, reflect off the end of the cable, return back through the fault, and be recorded by the SSTDR.

Fault-tolerant scheduling for asymmetric communications
5th European Personal Mobile Communications Conference 2003, 2003A fault-tolerant scheduling system is presented for data broadcasting in asymmetric communication environments for obtaining high communication efficiency for the clients of mobile computing. The coding method that plays a key role in implementing this system is analysed.

Diagnosability of system faults with propagation under asymmetric invalidation
Microprocessing and Microprogramming, 1988Abstract We proposed in [1] considering the influence of fault propagation on the diagnosability of an interconnected system. In addition to the parameter t of the number of faulty units, a parameter k was introduced of the number of components consisting of faulty units, so as to capture the effect of fault propagation.

Control of transformerless MMC-HVDC during asymmetric grid faults
IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013Modular multilevel converter (MMC) is the latest converter topology suitable for the transformerless applications in HVDC transmission. HVDC systems are required to remain connected during grid faults, provide grid support and completely decouple the healthy side from the faulty one.

Accurate Calculation of Asymmetrical Fault Currents in Complex Power Systems
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1981This paper describes an efficient method for accurate calculation of system asymmetrical short circuit currents for both balanced and unbalanced faults. The method uses a Fourier transform technique to calculate the unidirectional component of the short circuit current and a transient stability program to compute the alternating component. The proposed
