Semigroups Arising From Asynchronous Automata [PDF]
We introduce a new class of semigroups arising from a restricted class of asynchronous automata. We call these semigroups "expanding automaton semigroups." We show that the class of synchronous automaton semigroups is strictly contained in the class of ...

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

The complex torque coefficients (CTC) method has been widely adopted to investigate the conventional sub-synchronous oscillation (SSO) issues. However, the application of the CTC method is limited when large-scale wind power generations are integrated ...

Markovian dynamics of concurrent systems
Monoid actions of trace monoids over finite sets are powerful models of concurrent systems---for instance they encompass the class of 1-safe Petri nets.

This study proposes a piezoelectric interface modification strategy to amplify the piezoionic effect. The piezoelectric interface generates an intrinsic electric field, which not only drives rapid ion migration but also concentrates polarized ions on the interface. The flexible sensor delivers superior performance, such as a quick response rate, strong

Investigation of SSO characteristics in grid-connected PMSGs system
In recent years, a new type SSO issue, which has occurred in direct-drive permanent magnetic synchronous generators (PMSGs) based wind farm, brings a new challenge to the stability of the power system. In this paper, the SSO issue in grid-connected PMSGs

SL: a "quick and dirty" but working intermediate language for SVP systems [PDF]
The CSA group at the University of Amsterdam has developed SVP, a framework to manage and program many-core and hardware multithreaded processors. In this article, we introduce the intermediate language SL, a common vehicle to program SVP platforms.

SPARK decodes structure‐property relationships in anion exchange membranes (AEMs) via a chemically informed dual‐channel graph attention network (DEGAT) that explicitly captures microphase separation. It outputs five‐level grades for hydroxide conductivity and alkaline stability and highlights relevant key structural units, enabling robust pre ...

Comprehensive fault ride-through scheme for doubly-fed induction generators
With the growth of wind energy penetration in electricity transmission grids, fault ride-through (FRT) ability is required in order to maintain the uninterrupted operation of wind farm in voltage disturbance scenarios.

Next generation asynchronous webservices
Johannes joined a Bioclipse Workshop a long time ago, and introduced the participants to the idea of using XMPP (aka Jabber) for asynchronous web services. SOAP is commonly user to run webservices over HTTP, but via (SMTP) email and XMPP is possible too (see SOAP over XMPP). Using HTTP as transport layer has problems.
