Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

THE STUDY OF THE NATURE OF THE DEPENDENCE AGEOSTROPHIC WIND SPEED FROM TIME

open access: yesНаука. Инновации. Технологии, 2022
This paper examines the nature of the dependence ageostrophic compo-nent of the wind from time to time. The authors made a derivation of the equation, reflecting the dependence of ageostrophic velocity components from time to time.

The Atmospheric Chemistry of GJ 1214b: Photochemistry and Clouds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Recent observations of the transiting super-Earth GJ 1214b reveal that its atmosphere may be hydrogen-rich or water-rich in nature, with clouds or hazes potentially affecting its transmission spectrum in the optical and very-near-IR.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

“I-Aesthetics” e “paradigma dello specchio”. Riflessione sull’estetica dell’architettura contemporanea

open access: yesRivista di Estetica, 2016
The magnificent brilliance of the majority of the contemporary buildings can be depicted through the image of a mirror that reflects its surroundings, avoiding any relationship between the interior and the exterior. This introduces an articulated as well

Detection of an Extrasolar Planet Atmosphere

open access: yes, 2001
We report high precision spectrophotometric observations of four planetary transits of HD 209458, in the region of the sodium resonance doublet at 589.3 nm.

Results from a set of three-dimensional numerical experiments of a hot Jupiter atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present highlights from a large set of simulations of a hot Jupiter atmosphere, nominally based on HD 209458b, aimed at exploring both the evolution of the deep atmosphere, and the acceleration of the zonal flow or jet.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
