ATMOSPHERIC EFFECTS IN GEODETIC LEVELLING

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2012
The knowledge of physical processes and changes in the atmosphere is essential when addressing the fundamental problem, i.e. the accuracy of geodetic measurements. In levelling operations, all these changes are explained as the effect of refraction, which systematically distorts the results of levelling.

Atmospheric Thermal Emission Effect on Chandrasekhar’s Finite Atmosphere Problem

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2022
Abstract The solutions of the diffuse reflection finite atmosphere problem are very useful in the astrophysical context. Chandrasekhar was the first to solve this problem analytically, by considering atmospheric scattering. These results have wide applications in the modeling of planetary atmospheres.

On the Data Reduction of WET Observations

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2003
It is demonstrated how the length of a continuous time-series of photometric data and their gaps affect the power spectrum of a Fourier Transform of the data.

Medium effects for terrestrial and atmospheric neutrino oscillations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Matter effects in neutrino propagation translate into effective parameters for the oscillation and fake CP- and CPT-odd quantities, even in a scenario, such as $\Delta_{12}=0$, where no genuine CP violation is present.

Rectenna related atmospheric effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Possible meteorological effects arising from the existence and operations of a solar power satellite (SPS) system rectenna are examined. Analysis and model simulations in some chosen site situations and meteorological conditions indicate that the ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Overview of atmospheric effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Effluents from the transportation system are the major cause of Satellite Power System related atmospheric effects. These effects are discussed and include inadvertent weather modification, air quality degradation, compositional changes in the ...

Lookup tables to compute high energy cosmic ray induced atmospheric ionization and changes in atmospheric chemistry

open access: yes, 2010
A variety of events such as gamma-ray bursts and supernovae may expose the Earth to an increased flux of high-energy cosmic rays, with potentially important effects on the biosphere. Existing atmospheric chemistry software does not have the capability of
