ATP

Proceedings of the The International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2015, 2015

ATP Redux

Trends in Biochemical Sciences, 2021
The renaissance of interest in metabolism has focused mostly on techniques to measure massive numbers of metabolites. Yet, established metabolic theory has been abandoned. Here, I highlight one misconception: how ATP (and ADP and AMP) are currently understood. A critical point was established early on: cellular [ATP] is constant.

ATP Synthase

Annual Review of Biochemistry, 2015
Oxygenic photosynthesis is the principal converter of sunlight into chemical energy. Cyanobacteria and plants provide aerobic life with oxygen, food, fuel, fibers, and platform chemicals. Four multisubunit membrane proteins are involved: photosystem I (PSI), photosystem II (PSII), cytochrome b6f (cyt b6f), and ATP synthase (FOF1).

ATP regeneration by thermostable ATP synthase

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1996
We investigated the possibility of using thermostable ATP synthase (TF(0)F(1)) for a new ATP regeneration method. TF(0)F(1) was purified from a thermophilic bacterium, PS3, and reconstituted into liposomes. ATP synthesis experiments showed that TF(0)F(1) liposomes could synthesize ATP in micromole concentrations by acid-base change.

Yeast ATP sulfurylase-ATP complex

International Journal of Biochemistry, 1974
Abstract A relatively stable enzyme-substrate complex was formed when highly purified yeast ATP sulfurylase was incubated with ATP. The entire ATP molecule was bound by the enzyme.

ATP receptors

Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 1994
ATP receptors continue to be found in an ever wider range of tissues in the brain and the periphery. Much of the recent research on these receptors focuses on features that would distinguish ATP-mediated excitatory synaptic transmission from that mediated through glutamate or acetylcholine receptors.

ATP-atp.

Laryngologie, Rhinologie, Otologie, 1976
It has been known for some years that intra-arterial application of ATP as well as the only treatment with hyperbaric Oxygen is able to influence favorably a sudden hearing loss. In this study the combined application of both agents was used optimally. Up to now only few cases could be treated.

ATP Synthase: The machine that makes ATP

Current Biology, 1994
The recently determined crystal structure of the F1 part of mitochondrial ATP synthase provides new insights into the workings of one of the most remarkable and complex biochemical machines.
